The Guild Summer Outing will take place in Peebles on 21st May, with afternoon tea at the Park Hotel. The bus will leave the Church at 1:00pm with a second pick-up point at Eskbank.

Afternoon tea itself is booked for 3:00pm, allowing time for a walk around the Peebles shops or a seat in the Hotel prior to tea.

Christian Aid

The Christian Aid coffee morning will be held in our Church on Saturday 16 May. There will be a Bring & Buy stall.

As there is no door to door collection this year there is still an opportunity to give. On Sunday 10 May and Sunday 17 May there will be envelopes in the order of service for donations, which you can put in the offering bag or in the plate at the door.

MOPS – Mothers of Preschoolers

We are hoping to set up a MOPS Group to run alongside the already well established toddler group on a Friday morning. The MOPS Group would however only run every two weeks (toddlers would continue to run weekly as normal).

We need volunteers to help look after the babies and preschool children and also a few “mentor mums” who are older ladies who have already raised children and can share their experience and there to support mums who come along – just as a friendly ear. If you think you can help or would like to be part of the leadership team (not hugely time consuming roles!) please contact Claire Briggs.

This is a great way for us to start to introduce new families from our community into our church family and it can make a huge difference in the lives of mums of young children who can often feel alone and lack confidence as a parent. Please think about volunteering to support this great cause. Thanks.

History of the Bible

The next meeting will be on Monday 25 May at 8pm at 14 Dalhousie Road.

Monday 11 May between 8pm and 9pm – the next CAP Midlothian Pray Support Group meeting – at 214, Newbattle Abbey Crescent, Dalkeith, EH22 3LU. This will be a short meeting to pray for Joyce Maclean (CAP Centre Manger – Midlothian) and for the work of CAP in this area.

The Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda

Will be in Dalkeith in June. The event will be held in Dalkeith Baptist Church at 7:30pm on Wednesday 17th June. There is no admission charge and an offering will be taken.

During the Easter holiday over 600 lunches were prepared for children who otherwise would not have had anything to eat. Please start to think about the Summer holidays and how you can help.

Thank you to everyone for your amazing weekly support and donations!

If you know anyone who is ill or you would like a visit from the Minster please advice the Church office or put a note in the collection bag.
